CCTV Closed Circuit Television was invented many years ago, and it improves with each day passing. It was called “closed circuit” for the simple fact that it does not broadcast outside of the intended viewing area, unlike “broadcast television” which reach the masses for many miles and countries. CCTV is a major part of everyday life now. With the price of scrap metal skyrocketing, there have been many more incidents and thefts recorded than in recent history. Partly due to the economy, but also partly due to the reason we all want to protect our items in the first place, the “element” that sometimes shows us that the world is not so secure, and not everyone is your friend. On second thought, sometimes it can be good to have surveillance. Let’s say we were in the shopping mall yesterday during that snowstorm, and we saw the Mercedes Benz, who was not speeding or driving erratically hit their brakes and crash into the parked Maserati. The insurance companies can each get a recording of exactly what happened, what time, and what day. These are just two unfortunate examples. A great example for a residential CCTV system would be watching Uncle Harry playing with the kids in the pool, he loses his hairpiece, and it’s right there on camera for us to play back on the holiday. How about having a camera on a driveway so we can see who was here during the day while we were at work. Having a camera on the front door has always been a great way to announce someone’s presence safely. In a tenant building, most thefts and cause of harm is from a tenant buzzing in a person without identifying them first. The message we are trying to relay is CCTV can not only be your set of eyes when you aren’t there, but it can also save your life!!! |
